Have a Home of the Future Today

Posted under movie poster

The boom domestic interior design which has taken place over the last ten years has seen the major media and electrical companies recognize the home as sector in the market that is really worth investing in. People have spent so much on there homes that they no longer want to have to go the cinema for the latest picture technology, nor do they want to go to a packed out night club to hear their favourite music played by the newest audio equipment, and rightly so. Home technology today is big business and if you are prepared to invest a little can really make your home a much more convenient and, perhaps more importantly, a much more exciting place to be.

Home cinema is probably the most common technological advancement in our homes today. Comprising of a flat screen television which come in sizes that go all the way up to a massive 50 inches and a speaker system which provides exhilarating surround sound, they really do provide cinematic quality viewing. So good are they that many people are designating whole rooms to the sole purpose of movie watching. If this is something you yourself are thinking of, an even more exciting development you might want consider is a projector. Those who are getting visions of science lessons in your school days, projectors have vastly improved in quality and capability since then. Now able to be connected to a digital set top box they can display regular television. The better ones can be hooked up to the latest high definition DVD players for picture perfect movie enjoyment. The benefit of a projector is that they are available in much bigger sizes than are currently possible with a television and, when not in use they can they rolled out of sight.

Improved technology can also improve the quality of our nights sleep. A Tempora mattress is made from technology designed by the NASA space programme. Built from memory foam, they mould perfectly to the shape of your body resulting in a deeper state of relaxation. Memory foam mattresses are also particularly effective for those with back problems as they keep the head correctly aligned with the body for better sleeping posture. There can be no better end to a day than collapsing onto a king size, four poster bed complete with memory foam mattress covered in Egyptian cotton sheets, a freshly plumped up duvet, all topped off with a luxuriously heavy throw.

Sticking with comfort, but travelling forward a few hours, waking up to the gloriously easy feeling of under-floor heating is something that has to be experienced in order to be truly appreciated. The latest and last word on home heating, under-floor heating is actually much more efficient that regular heating and will free up your walls from the unsightly pipes and radiators that have done our homes a disservice for far too long.

I’ll leave you with a piece of home technology that is still in its novelty stages but is something I feel will have a massive impact on our homes in years to come. Digital picture frames currently offer the opportunity to display snaps of your loved ones taken on your mobile phone or digital camera. They connect to your P.C. where you simply choose from your picture library which shot you would like to upload. The signs are that these small items will eventually grow to the point where they act almost like windows to any view in the world. Soon live scenes from anywhere you like will be able to be beamed straight to your “second window” meaning you will soon be drinking your morning coffee looking over Paris an the Eiffel Tower- better invest in some café style curtains!

Should I go home sick from work today?
Work has become a real downer lately. I’ve gotten more and more depressed about the way they treat me. I used to suffer from depression years ago, but their treatment at the moment is getting me more ill. I work in an office so its not like my job is hard but I feel like I’m being bullied by management. I could never speak up because it would cost me my job and any hopes of a future one.

If I go home sick today I could get taken to a stage 3 disciplinary meeting where I would surely get sacked and let me assure you. I would never get an office job again if I got sacked at stage 3 which basically constitues gross misconduct. What to do?

  2. Denny O Said,

How can you describe it as gross misconduct if you are sick so what aren’t you telling us, if your sick your sick all you have to do is go to the DR. and if you are being mistreated file a complaint with the EOC if you can’t with upper management.

If you feel so down about your job, you should book a hoilday or look for something different. A change of enviorment is much better for you. I have a few days off and I feel so much better.

Unless you want to get fired DO NOT go home "sick" – just suck it up and when you DO go home for the day, get online and start looking for another job now!

I know how it feels to work at a place like that. I used to work for a co. where they treated me like crap and it was a horrible feeling! I was depressed and it made me physically sick.
I ended up leaving and felt better.

There is NO reason an adult (at a job!) should have to feel the way you do!
I say find a job now and quit on them!!!

    Ha!

i noticed that your profile is antichrist superstar. good luck with that. god can help you. only you can make the decision to leave work or not. you can resign. i wouldnt spend my time in a job like that. too depressing and life is too good. if you leave you could get a drs apointment and get a medical certificate. they couldnt fire you then could they? then give your notice of resignation

    Good Luck!

don’t yet.. but try to see your doctor after.. then talk to your boss.. see if anything’s needed for you to have an official leave..

but if the management is bullying you, why don’t you complain to an agency that handles those kind of stuff.. or ask your doctor to speak to your boss so you can resign..

    Hello!
    .
Maybe it is your depression which is making things look a little worse than they are.
Have you thought about a visit to the doctor? maybe it is time to go have a check up.
I would do this first then have a talk with your boss .
    Take care!

Haven’t you got a union or ombudsman you can speak too? Or perhaps you could ask for a meeting with your office manager or boss, and find out why you are getting singled out for this type of treatment? If you go on quietly ‘taking it’ it will not stop, it will cause you to have a mental break-down! So nip it in the bud before it gets worse! If you prove that you had a mental break-down due to your work environment you could sue them for damages! Bullies are easily frightened when threatened themselves. So mention that fact and mention in a calm way of course that you would regard them liable and that you have a solicitor ready to sue them if the abuse continues. It will work, I promise you! Have a good day!

I feel your pain. I pulled in a sickie today….had a rough evening last night and couldn’t face going in to work today…

Maybe you could spend some time alone and really think about having a career change? find out what you love and where your passions lie (your calling). You need a vacation and need time to heal from your depression. I’m definitely going to spend the day thinking about what I’m going to do!

Also, you cant help feeling sick so they would be dumb to sack cause of that……but anyway…the choice is yours…..remember if you do go home….remember to spend your time wisely…..

    theres always hope! good luck
