Can i watch the new star trek movie and not get confused?

I’ve never seen aNy star trek shows but i want to see the new movie. Will i get lost?

Yea, its a prequel so it reintroduces all of the characters from the original Star Trek. You won’t get confused. I havent seen any of the Star Trek movies, but I’m definitely going to watch this one; it looks good.

    JJ Abrams produces Lost so you probably will get lost. The film introduces the characters from the old series so you may miss out on some "inside jokes" but the story itself is completely new.

    The new movie’s time frame is before the events in the original series. So, aside from some Star Trek humor related to the original series, you should be able to follow the movie just fine.
